Kenwood U929 Car Stereo with 512MB of memory

Monday, June 11, 2007

If you are in the market for a car stereo with USB ports you might want to give this one a gander. The Kenwood U929 features playing CDs, USB devices, and also has 512 mb of built in storage so you can copy and playback songs directly on the deck. Like other Kenwood USB models, you can control your iPod from the deck itself. This unit lacks alot of buttons on the face, as it features a remote to operate most functions. Like with most products these days, if you lose the remote, you will lose functionality too. If you have a tendency to lose remotes, you'll want to keep this tiny remote on a leash.

You can't rush down to your local Big Box Store or car stereo shop to get this baby. While Kenwood has announced this model in Japan, they have yet to announce a ship date for North America. Kenwood expects to have a new line of USB featured car stereos including the U929 in stores by Fall 2007. Prices are expected to be from $199-$499.

Specs

* plays CDs (compatible with MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV)
* features a USB port to play music as well
* has 512MB of built-in memory to copy songs from a CD/USB pen to the radio itself
