Samsung unveils the Ultra Messaging i600

Today Samsung Electronics has introduced its latest smartphone, the Samsung Ultra Messaging i600. The smart phone has several features that distinguish it from the other competitors. It is the thinnest 3G smartphone that sports a full QWERTY keyboard. The Ultra Messaging i600 is thick just 0.464 inches and weighs only 3.5 ounces.

It is also the first mobile phone in Asia and Europe to support the HSDPA wireless technology. The latter is a 3G protocol that allows for higher data transfer speeds. The Ultra Messaging i600 also sports faster transmission speed with Bluetooth 2.0 thanks to the Enhanced Data Rate supports. Speaking of Bluetooth the A2DP and AVRCP profiles are also supported.

As for the software that it is able to run, the Samsung Ultra Messaging i600 is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0. The smart phone also supports web technologies like pod casting or RSS Feeder to read the latest news directly from the feeds. The device also supports Microsoft Push Email to deliver emails upon their arrival in the user inbox.

The online activities will take advantage of the 2.3” color screen that will also be useful to fully appreciate the multimedia side of the device. The Ultra Messaging i600 features in fact the Windows Media Player 10 Mobile to guarantee the best viewing experience possible. Lastly the display can also be used to view pictures or do video calls thanks to the two integrated digital cameras.

The Samsung Ultra Messaging i600 will be available in Asia and Europe in the first quarter of the 2007. There is instead no timetable for its arrival in the United States.
