New Nokia 6136 works with UMA Another phone from Nokia, suprised? No, I didn't think so, except this one has some cool new technology.
A new technology that allows a mobile phone to transition between WiFi and a cell network without dropping the phone call. Nokia 6136 supports 802.11 b/g networks, and automatically routes calls through them when available. The idea is that when you`re making calls within a WiFi network area, your calls are routed out over the Internet - keeping costs to a minimum. This is also great news for people who suffer from bad mobile signal coverage in doors. When you step out of range of a Wi-Fi network, the phone switches automatically to the traditional mobile network. In addition to UMA technology, the Nokia 6136 has a 1.3-megapixel camera with dedicated camera button and smooth 8x digital zoom, video recording at QCIF (176 x 144), 15 fps, up to the capacity of the available memory, FM stereo radio with Visual Radio, music and video players, and dual color displays a 1.8-inch, 128 x 160-pixel, 262,144-color TFT LCD main display and a 1.4-inch, 96 x 65-pixel, 65,536-color CSTN sub-display. The Nokia 6136 also boasts infrared and POP-port interface with USB connectivity, Adobe Flash Player, and support for hot-swappable microSD cards. The Nokia 6136, which measures 90 x 46 x 23.6 mm and weighs 98 g, is expected to be available during the second quarter of 2006, with Orange scheduled to be an initial carrier. We think the release of the new Nokia 6136 camera-phone and supporting network technology is significant, so we will look forward to trying this new Nokia phone. |
