Creative introduces the ZEN V Plus

Last week Creative introduced its latest MP3, photo and video player: the Creative ZEN V Plus. The main feature publicized by Creative is the 8GB capacity of this player that allows the user to store around 4,000 songs. This player doubles the maximum memory available from Creative players and puts the gadget on the same capacity level with Apple’s latest iPod.

The bigger memory does not mean a bigger player so thanks also to a special coating that protects the player the ZEN V Plus can be put almost everywhere. The gadget comes with a 1.5-inch color screen and has an in-line connection and a Sync Track button that enables the user to clearly separate the different songs included in a CD.

Other interesting features are a built-in FM tuner with 32 station presets, voice recorder and support for the PlaysForSure certification. Speaking of support for music subscription services the ZEN V Plus is compatible with Yahoo! Music Unlimited, Urge, Napster To Go and Rhapsody To Go. For audio books this gadget supports the Audible audio books service.

Lastly the player has also on-board software to synch with Microsoft Outlook and to organize tasks and contacts and a calendar. To distinguish the ZEN V Plus from the other Creative players it will be distributed with its own color: black and red.

An exclusive version with a blue and black color scheme is available only on the Creative online store. The black and red gadget will distributed in Singapore at first (for almost $270) but later will certainly reach the other markets (at least in the US probably for a reduce price of around $250).
