Three new media gadgets from Disney

The Walt Disney Company after the great success of the Mix Stick that one year ago sold out before the holiday season has big plans for the media gadgets.

Disney has in fact announced the release of two new gadgets and the upgrade of another. The new devices are a portable media player (Mix Max) and a small music player (Mix Micro) while the upgraded product is the music player Mix Stix.

The Mix Max will be able to play the music, the movies and the television shows that Disney will distribute on preloaded cards plus your own music and movies. It has a 2.2-inch color LCD that unfortunately is only able to support the 220x176 resolution.

The gadget also has 512MB of internal memory that can store 5 hours of video or approximately 240 songs. If this is not enough however there is also the possibility to expand to expand the memory up to 2GB.

As for the supported formats the Mix Max will only read WMV video files and MP3 and WMA audio files while will accept JPEG pictures.

The gadget will be powered by a rechargeable battery that according to Disney will provide two hours of continuous video playback and eight of audio playback. The price is set to $99.99 and will be available in October together with some Disney movies that will cost instead $19.99 each.

Included in the Mix Max box Disney will also include stereo earbuds and a wrist strap. Obviously the gadget will be available in different color schemes based on classic Disney themes like Tinkerbell, Cheetah Girls and Forever Princess.

The new version of the Mix Stick will be available also in October at $50 and will feature 512MB of internal memory. It will accept the music cards in the Disney Mix Clips series with the price for each card set to $15.

Lastly the Mix Micro is a smaller version of the Mix Stick with only 128MB of memory that will be on sale at the same period of its big brother and will cost $20.
