Two gadgets to improve your golf gameWednesday, August 16, 2006 Golf is a great way to do physical exercise in a healthy environment but to do so you actually have to play it and not lose your time looking for the ball. Even the most skilled player can have a bad day and hit a poor shot after another and if the search for the ball becomes too frequent it might seriously ruin your day. Two companies with two different gadgets try now to solve this problem by allowing you to find quickly the ball and focus only on the shot execution. Hopefully once the frustration for the time lost searching is gone away your execution should improve also. Besides if you are a good player or you are loaded with patience these gadgets are helpful too. If you are in a tight race with your rival you certainly do not want to help him by getting a penalty for being unable to find the ball, right? The first gadget is actually a combination of two gadgets: a handheld and a set of golf balls that have a microchip inside. This product is developed and sold by Radar Golf at 250 dollars. The system works like all the similar devices used to find coin or other valuable objects. The handheld transmits a signal toward the ball and when the Radar Golfball is close enough it returns the signal to the handheld. Once a contact is established the handheld begins to beep and draw signal on its LCD. The more you are closer to the ball the more this gadget beeps so the entire searching process is speeded up. According to Radar Golf the handheld has a scanning range of 30 to 100 feet and it is powered by AA batteries. If you find it too expensive you can also use the second product, the Golf-Ball Finding Glasses. This gadget is on sale from Hammacher Schlemmer directly on their site at 39.95 dollars. This gadget blocks out 90% of long wavelength light (i.e. the darkest colors) so the white ball will stand out a lot more and you will find it quicker.
